LEWISTON — The public is invited to a free screening of “The Rehearsal” at noon Friday, May 27, at the Lewiston Public Library.
The short documentary film, by Lewiston-based filmmaker Craig Saddlemire, follows people who have received mental-health treatment at Tri-County Mental Health Services through rehearsals leading up to the night of the 2010 “Inspired Voices” concert.
“Inspired Voices” is a benefit concert and art exhibit hosted by Tri-County each year in June. The event has become a powerful tool for recovery. It celebrates the gifts of people whose lives have been touched by the agency.
The film, which won the MPBN Director’s Award at the L/A Film Festival, features Tatiana, Gwen, Charlie, Elaine, Melinda and others who took part in the 2010 performance, and follows them onto the stage and into recovery.
Donations benefiting mental-health services will be accepted at the door.
The 2011 “Inspired Voices” event is scheduled for June 25. For more information, visit www.tcmhs.org or call 783-9141, ext. 158.
