Pomona Grange

NEW GLOUCESTER — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet on Wednesday, July 6, at Sabbathday Lake Grange for a 6:30 p.m. supper. The meeting will begin at 7:30, and the program will be presented by the family health and hearing committee. There will be a 50/50 raffle and an attendance drawing. All members and guests are welcome.

Country Sunday

LITCHFIELD — A Country Sunday Show will be held Sunday, July 10, at the Litchfield Sportsman Club, Hallowell Road. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., show starts at noon.

Music will be provided by The Wildwoods Band, Paul Bright, Aubrey Farrington, Barry Wood and Teresa Seavey.

There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and raffles. The food bar will be open.

Breastfeeding

AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are all invited to a La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.

This month’s discussion, “Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings For Mother and Baby,” will focus on avoiding and overcoming difficulties. Pregnancy is an ideal time to begin attending meetings, and mothers find continued attendance provides support throughout their breastfeeding experience. RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free nutrition workshop for ages 7-12 and their parents or adult caregivers. “Cancer and the Kitchen” will take place Wednesday, July 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Lewiston Regional Technical Center, 156 East Ave.

David Moyse, general manager of Fishbones American Grill, will join Tookie Bright, Dempsey Center children’s program coordinator, and Dan Caron of Lewiston Regional Technical Center, to present a creative, educational and hands-on workshop that will use food and nutrition to help children understand cancer. A healthy meal is included.
