ALFRED, N.Y. – Sylvie N. Demers, a resident of Auburn, Maine, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and design from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University during commencement exercises May 14.

Demers is the daughter of Normand and Kathleen Demers of Auburn. She is a graduate of Royal Academy.

Demers was among the 10 doctoral degree recipients, 167 master’s degree recipients and 307 baccalaureate degree recipients, who heard Bill Pullman, acclaimed actor, director and playwright, talk about “Sense of Place.”
