RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial for George A. Garon was celebrated Friday at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church, Rumford, with the Rev. Phil Tracy as celebrant. Altar assistant was George Gionet and organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Here I Am Lord,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Prayer to St. Francis” and “Fly Like a Bird.” Readings were given by grandchildren, Scott Marcellino and Dawna Guiel. The eulogy was given by his brother-in-law, Ted Desveaux. Presenting the gifts were his son and his wife, Rosaire “Al” and Claudette Dalbec. A reception followed the Mass downstairs in the parish hall. Interment services with military honors will be conducted at noon Monday at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader and Son Funeral Home.
