Bake sale

JAY — The Saint Rose of Lima Youth Ministry will hold a bake sale after the Knights of Columbus breakfast in the Parish Hall on Sunday, Nov. 27.

All of the proceeds will be used to fund the annual trip to the statewide Youth Convention. The baked goods will be provided by the members of the Youth Ministry and other generous contributors.

Bottle Drive

JAY — The Boy Scouts of Troop 199 St. Rose of Lima will hold a bottle drive on Sunday, Nov. 27. The scouts will be going from house to house collecting bottles from those willing to give them. Donations may also be dropped off between 3 and 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the St. Rose of Lima parish hall.

Additionally, bottles may be dropped off at In Town Redemption up to the day of the drive.

Scout recruitment

JAY — The Boy Scout Troop 199 chartered to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church will hold a recruitment night at the St. Rose Parish Hall from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27. There will be refreshments, a keynote speaker and opportunities to talk to the veteran scouts of the troop.

Troop 199 participates in many different activities all throughout New England. Any boy between the ages of 11 and 18 will have the chance to become a part of the historic organization.

Christmas play

FARMINGTON — Farmington Baptist Church will present “Christ-mas Is Coming,” a four-act play which reflects the world’s view of Christmas vs. the true meaning of Christmas, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

Cookies and beverages will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Free to all who attend.

PJ collection

JAY — The Jay Democratic committee will collect new pajamas for the local WMCA Operation Santa Claus from their float in the Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 3.
