Ray and Pat

Bissonette

LEWISTON — Ray and Pat Bissonette of Lewiston celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 10 at a surprise dinner party on Mrs. Bissonette’s 80th birthday held at Marco’s Restaurant. The event was hosted by their daughter, Peg.

A birthday and anniversary cake was presented by their other daughter, Pat Pollock and husband, Bill.

Later in September the couple vacationed at St. Pete’s Beach in Florida. The first weekend of their vacation, they were honored at a small dinner by their nephew and niece, Mike and Carol Roberts from Palm Coast, with some friends from the city.

On the last week of their vacation, they were joined by their daughter, Peg, granddaughter, Tracy Hall, and what they call their adopted daughter, Doris Belanger. The girls hosted a buffet on the beachfront under a Tiki hut for approximately 40 people who get together every year at this time. Guests attended from England, Scotland, Newfoundland, Ohio, Alabama, Illinois and Tennessee. The activities ended by father and daughter para-sailing.

Mr. Bissonette and the former Patricia Roberts were married on Sept. 1, 1951, at St. Joseph’s Church. Both retired from Bates Fabrics, he from management and she from production.

A family picture with the signatures of all attending from Lewiston and Florida was presented to the couple by Doris Belanger.
