AUBURN — Week 7 results from YMCA Biddy Basketall:
Junior Division
Platz Associates 33, American Concrete 32: Ben English completed the traditional 3-point play with just three seconds on the clock to lead Platz Associates to a thrilling victory over American Concrete in a battle of two shorthanded teams. English finished with a game high 13 points. Teagan Galway added eight with Nathan Farnsworth and Joel Stubbs each tossing in six each to complete the scoring. Julia Masters solidified the defensive effort.
Mohamed Mohamed led the American scorers with 11. Tyler Morin directed the offense and notched nine points. Otis Caron, Nick Hartley and Keegan Pelletier each added four points. Courtney Richard had a solid all-around game.
Emerson Toyota 32, Gee & Bee Sporting Goods 21: Emerson used contributions from the entire roster to pull away in the second half and secure a victory over Gee & Bee. Jacob Kyajohnian led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points. Alex Thompson was next with eight points and Kyle Herald followed with six. Storm Jipson, Madison Thistlewaite, Robert Tremaine and Jaden Legare each contributed a bucket to the winning effort. Olivia DuBois and Rosalie White sparked the defense with their energy.
Caleb Yarnevich paced Gee & Bee with nine points and solid playmaking. Jonah Crowell added four. Christian Beliveau, Giles Paradie, Ryan Therriault and Selina Gauthier all finished with two. Kathryn Childs, Cameron Winslow and Shane Gauthier played tough on both ends of the floor.
Leary & DeTroy 48, Downeast Financial 33: L&D closed out 2011 as the only unbeaten club in the “Y” circuit with an impressive victory over Downeast. It was a total team effort as every played registered points for the winners. Austin Brown scored 8 of his 15 points in the clinching fourth quarter for the winners to share the game-high honors with Ethan Brown and his 15. Khadar Heeban added seven points and Khalid Heeban followed with four. Chantel Ouelette, Lauren Jutras and Serena Mower each finished with two and Ethan Bosse added one from the line.
Grant Hartley led Downeast with 13 points followed closely by Hank Duval’s 11. Grace Beaudet added seven and Sarah Sterling chipped in two to round out the scoring. Nick Davis, Sofia Hartley, Katelyn Jipson, Kirsten Main and Jayson Taylor provided hustle and defense.
Pat’s Pizza 42, Hoop Camp 22: Tyler Libby, Dan Nalley and Tyler Swanbeck were all in double figures with 12, 10 and 10 points respectively to lead Pat’s to a win over a game but holiday depleted Hoop Camp squad. Josh Hamel added six and Jade Perry four to round the scoring for the winners. Oceanna Chamberlain, Josh Kaiser and Julia Milks anchored the defense.
Piper Norcross directed the offense and led the Campers with 10 points. Brian Demers and Camden Poisson each added four. Taylor Depot and Richard Thurston added a bucket each. Spencer Morrill and Ryan Salk added hustle to spark a commendable effort from Hoop Camp.
Pee Wee Division
Hammond Lumber 29, M&P Used Auto Parts 24: Max Creaser closed out 2011 in grand fashion; exploding for a game high 22 points to lead Hammond Lumber to a win over M&P. Michelle Cowie had a great game, adding five points. Point man Tyson Green added the final two. Brady Cox, Quincy Coachman, Liam Flynn, Cameron Langis, Aiden Hebert and Rylen Schenk were strong two-way contributors for Hammond.
Corey Wiers led a balanced M&P attack with eight points. Justin Bulmer, Sam Courtemanche and Harrison Gray each tossed in four points. Josh Murphy added two. John Shea and Aaron Galway added one each from the line. Joey Shea and Shane Kilby played strong defense.
C.B. Bachmann 23, Anthoine Financial Group 6: Tyler Jalbert led all scorers with eight points to lead Bachmann to victory over a young Anthoine squad. Dylan Sellinger followed with six, Hannah Chaput five and Fiona King four to complete the scoring. Mike Chaput, Jack Hart, Dominick Jacobs and Austin Sellinger helped stymie the opposing offense.
Braden Paradie, Jordan Cummings and Anson Perry combined for the Anthoine scoring with a bucket each. The iron was unkind as numerous scoring chances bounced off the rim throughout the game. Marshall Adams, Meaza Paradie, Lindsay Adams, Nick Gagne, Olivia Ouelette and Ella Perry battled to the final horn.
Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe 22, Sun Journal 20: Sam’s over came a four-point halftime deficit to rally to a two-point win over SJ in an exciting matchup. Hunter Young led the winners with eight points. Dan Milks added six and R.J. Nichols and Matt Scholer four each to complete the scoring. Anna Le Blanc, Kora Martel, Nick Kaiser, Madisyn Turcotte and Ben Webber were defensive catalysts for Sam’s.
Devonte Scott poured in a game-high 12 points for SJ. Cayden Childs added six points. Emily Kramarz found her way to the score sheet with two points. Andrea Demers, Elijah Demers, Wyatt Morse and Noah Peck had strong two-way games for SJ.
Hahnel Bros. 24, Morrison & Sylvester 17: Hahnel used contributions from throughout the roster to upend M&S. Steven Parshall led the winners with eight points. Matt Metivier and Ben Sirois were next with six each. Trevor Bosse and Jacob Jackson combined for the final four points for Hahnel. Tristin Blossom, Declan Giroux and Luke Josephson were the defensive standouts.
Ethan Chute’s game-high 13 points paced M&S. Joey Vallee added the additional four points to complete the scoring. Calvin Ames, Tyler Murray, Alex Thistlewaite, Finnegan Thistle, Cooper Watkins, Addison Dostie and Simon Hayes crashed the boards and added hustle.
