Country jamboree

WILTON — Starting Friday, Jan. 6, and running every Friday night through April 20, Country Spotlight /Jamboree shows will be held at the Harnden Masonic Lodge at 70 Bryant Road in East Wilton. As in past years these shows will be filmed by UMF for showing on local access TV stations.

Scheduled performers through Feb. 3 are as follows:

Jan. 13, George Harnish, Dan Corbett with granddaughter Kady Bealieu.

Jan. 20, Barry Wood, Danny Taylor.

Jan. 27, Tim Sprague and Brian Gelina, Slim Andrews.

Feb. 3, A & E Hill Country, Sammi Angel.

Doors will open at 6:30 and the shows run from 7-10 p.m. Admission is by donation at the door with all proceeds going to the local food pantry. Hot dogs, coffee, soda, water and some snacks will be available plus a weekly 50/50 raffle.

In the event of bad weather the shows will be cancelled and will be posted on NBC TV Channel 6. For more information call Bing at 645-2472.

Community breakfast

KINGFIELD — A community all-you-can-eat breakfast is being offered Saturday, Jan. 14, from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Kingfield United Methodist Church.

The menu will include homemade cinnamon oatmeal, sausage gravy with biscuits, pancakes, French toast, baked beans, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, home fries, muffins, coffee and juice. The cost is $5 per person, all you can eat. A discounted rate is available for children.
