Group meditation

MADRID — Wednesday Meditation, a new weekly group meditation, will be held at the Madrid Historical Society, School House Road/Reeds Mill Road.

The weekly group meditation is offered as a time for collective silence and all sessions are free and open to the public. This collective silence provides a unique opportunity to pause our busy lives and while there are no teachers or gurus, no set agendas or proposed beliefs, these sessions are guided by one principle — when you change within, the world changes.

Interested people may join once, weekly or as schedules allow. The program progresses in a simple format that begins at 4 p.m. with an hour of collective silence; it is unguided, without any instructions or music. At 5 p.m., there is a short reflective reading, followed by a circle of sharing of “aha” moments from everyday life. Light refreshments and tea will be offered in silence to close each evening session.
