RICHMOND — Buckfield opened its season by pounding out 13 hits to complement an efficient performance by Cody White on the mound in an 11-1 victory over Richmond in EWC baseball action Thursday.
Alan Lebel cracked two hits and scored three runs to lead the Bucks. Dustin Damon also had two hits, including a double, and Austin Dooley chipped in with two hits.
White went the distance, yielding just one run on two hits while striking out six and walking none in 73 pitches over six innings.
Boys’ Lacrosse
St. Dom’s 10, Morse 3
AUBURN — Troy Haefele netted five goals and added two assists as St. Dom’s overpowered Morse 10-3 in KVAC boy’s lacrosse action.
Anthony Faggone chipped in for the Saints (3-0) with three goals and an assist, while single tallies by Will Desmarais and Chris Finlay completed the scoring.
Alex Paulus led the Shipbuilders (1-2) with two goals.
Cody Rodrique made 11 saves for St. Dom’s, while Alex Small turned aside 13 shots in the cage for Morse.
Softball
Madison 13,
St. Dom’s 1
MADISON — Emily McKenney scattered two hits in five innings as Madison rolled to a 13-1 victory over St. Dom’s in a KVAC lacrosse matchup Thursday.
Kayla Belanger led the Bulldogs (4-0) with two hits, including a home run.
Mary Caron led the Saints (0-2) with an RBI triple.
Oxford Hills 6, EL 5
AUBURN — Oxford Hills opened up a narrow lead with three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth and held on for a 6-5 KVAC softball win over Edward Little Wednesday.
Leading 2-1 in the fifth, Bre Martin delivered a two-run triple and scored on an error to open up the lead.
Martin finished with a pair of hits as did Crystal West, who also earned the win with eight strikeouts.
Kory Norcross and Kennedy Hubbard each had a hit and scored a run for EL. Norcross fanned four in the loss.
Lacrosse
Oxford Hills 15, Lincoln Academy 4
LINCOLN ACADEMY — Danielle Allen netted six goals to lead Oxford Hills to a 15-4 romp over Lincoln Academy in a MVC lacrosse tilt.
Amanda Hanning chipped in for the Vikings (2-0) with three goals, while Abby Morton added two.
Charlotte Nutt led Lincoln (0-2) with three goals.
Audrey Komulainen made 11 saves for the Vikings.
Bayley Pendelton turned aside eight shots for Lincoln Academy.
