LEWISTON — L & A Vet Council meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

On Friday, May 4, participants will attend La Rancontre at 11:30 a.m. at the Franco Center with meal and entertainment. Also on May 4, the “Just Us Entertainers” will perform at the Multi Purpose Center, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5, or $6 at the door.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be a rose sale for Franco vets and a poppy sale for the VFW at local stores.

On Tuesday, May 8, the Franco Vet and Auxiliary meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center. Ladies are asked to dress up for a photo for the souvenir booklet celebrating the group’s 25th anniversary and also the 80th National Convention in September at the Fireside Inn in Auburn, which the auxiliary will sponsor.

The Amvets election of officers will take place Wednesday, May 9, and on Saturday, May 12, installation will take place in New Gloucester.

The election and installation of officers for American Legion Post 22 will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

On Monday, May 21, VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center.

The Memorial Day parade and ceremony in Lewiston and Auburn, sponsored by the L & A Veterans Council, will take place May 26. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the ceremony will follow at Veterans Memorial Park.

Memorial Day parades in Sabattus and New Gloucester will also be held on Monday, May 28.
