Group making afghans, quilts
WILTON — Wilton Day Group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at St. Luke’s Church to make afghans and quilts. Participants are asked to bring squares.
Local Council to meet May 12
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Local Council meeting will take place on the second Saturday of the month, May 12, June 9 and July 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Franklin Memorial Hospital, the Allen Room, at 11 Franklin Health Commons. Concert benefits Community Table
STRONG — Two great bands, Greater Purpose and Backyard Bluegrass Band, have teamed up to give an uplifting performance to benefit “The Community Table” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Forester Memorial Building.
The free concert will include music, light refreshments and fellowship. All donations collected will be donated to The Community Table. Everyone is welcome.

Supper, dance for scholarship

Knights’ monthly supper
JAY — The monthly supper will be held Saturday, May 12, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Main Street. Doors open at noon and serving 4:30 to 6 p.m. Menu will include meatloaf, potatoes, vegetables, soup, salad and drinks. The friend of the supper this month is Tom Goding Building Contractor along with Precast Concrete Products of Maine.

Book sale for library
WILTON — A book sale to benefit the Wilton Free Public Library will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Western Maine Enterprises (old Bass Shoe factory), Weld Road. This is a big sale with something for everyone: fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, etc. Books are not priced, but sold by donation. For more information, call the library 645-4831.
Public Masonic supper
WILTON — On Saturday, May 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., there will be a public Masonic supper at the Harland M. Harnden Masonic Hall, 70 Bryant Road in East Wilton, to benefit the building fund. The menu will be roast turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, apple crisp with ice cream and beverages.

For the month of May only, the supper has been changed to the second Saturday instead of the usual third Saturday of the month.
Church holding potluck dinner
WILTON — The First Congregational Church of Wilton will host a public potluck dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in the church vestry at 386 Main St. Donations for the supper will be gratefully accepted.
Pork loin dinner
NEW SHARON — A roast pork loin dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at the Masonic Lodge Hall, Route 2. Eat in or take out.
The meal includes mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, apple sauce, pies, tea and coffee. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for under 6.
Proceeds benefit the building fund.
