LEWISTON — To celebrate the many fun, friendly felines up for adoption, The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will hold its annual “Cats Take Over” Adoption Event on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Throughout the day, adopters can expect to choose from dozens of cats and kittens of many different breeds, sizes and colors. Adoption fees for kittens will be $60 each or two for $105 and adopters can name their own adoption fee for adult cats. All cats and kittens will also leave in a free carrier with a special adoption goodie bag. All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.
In preparation of adding a new family member, there are a number of things families should consider when choosing to adopt a cat. Factors include age, number, personality, coat, nutrition and health. Ask the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society for tips in these areas.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is at 55 Strawberry Ave. To learn more about volunteering at the shelter or adopting an animal call 783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org or www.facebook/GAHumane.
