RUMFORD – Holy Savior Parish and Catholic School will host their annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The fair will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to Barbara Pelletier, principal of Holy Savior Catholic School, it’s open to the public, and raffle tickets are available to purchase ahead of time.
“We mailed out tickets to parishioners earlier,” Pelletier said, “but people who aren’t parishioners at the church can still come in and purchase raffle tickets.”
Handmade crafts available for purchase at the fair include wreaths and kissing balls. Pelletier said Fryewood Farm in Roxbury made the wreaths, while volunteers at Holy Savior decorated them. The wreaths are $18; the kissing balls $20.
Pelletier said the kissing balls are spheres decorateed with evergreens and ornaments.
“I have no idea where they got the name for those things,” Pelletier said, laughing.
The items in the Chinese Auction are donations Holy Savior has received, according to Pelletier.
“We’ve received a lot of donations this year for the fair,” Pelletier said. “We also made sure to have prizes for children in the raffle. We’re hoping to raffle off an American Girl doll for the girls and a Bruder truck for the boys.”
In addition to the crafts and donations, a hot turkey luncheon is being offered starting at 10:30 a.m. until sold out. The price is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. There will also be homemade Italian sandwiches, candy and fudge available.
