FARMINGTON — A Mass of Christian Burial for John F. Carleton was celebrated Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, celebrant. Bearers were John’s nephews, Noah, Zachary, Andrew and Nathan Carleton, Seth Webber and Cole Dorman. John’s brothers, Ed and Desi Carleton placed the Bible and crucifix on his casket at the altar upon the procession into church. The first reading was done by John’s brother Michael Carleton and the second by his childhood and adult friend Roger Wells. The gifts were brought forward and offered by John’s brothers Brien and Kevin Carleton. His sister Christie Mullen offered the eulogy. Hymns during Mass played on the keyboard by Lee Ann Tinker and sung by Susan Anzivino, Colleen Serrada and Norm Chabot were “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Because the Lord is My Shepherd,” “ Be Not Afraid,” “You Are Near,” “Song of Farewell” and “All I Ask of You.” After Mass, a time of fellowship and refreshment was hosted by the St. Joseph’s Altar Guild at the church’s parish hall. Another reception was held later in the day at the Farmington Elks Lodge. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Funeral Home.
