Guest speaker is Jennifer Wixson

NORWAY —  The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Norway will host Jennifer Wixson as a guest speaker at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 21, at 479 Main St.

Maine farmer, author and itinerant Quaker minister, Wixson has been a regular guest speaker at both the First Universalist Church of Norway and the West Paris Universalist Church for more than 12 years. She lives in Troy, where she and her husband raise Scottish Highland cattle.

The sermon titled “Sacred Cow” will explore the tension between loving and yet killing the animals that provide us (non-vegetarians) with daily meat. Wixson will bring a first-hand Maine farmer’s spiritual perspective to the topic, yet also draw upon the philosophy of other cultures, particularly Native American.

Childcare is provided and social hour follows the service.
