AUBURN — The Honoring American Heroes plaque was recently awarded to Scott A. Laliberte.

The back of the award stated: “The William J. Rogers Post 153, American Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion present the Honoring American Heroes plaque to Scott A. Laliberte, 133rd Engineering Battalion, February 5, 2013.” It was signed by Paul R. Bernard, public relations officer of Post 153; Brenda Longton, Women’s Auxiliary 1st vice commander; and Sons of the American Legion commander, Tim Ricker.

“Scott has been serving our community in the Auburn Police Patrol Division which is responsible for the overall protection of lives and property, maintaining law and order and responding to requests for services,” said Bernard. “The Patrol Division enforces all criminal laws that are mandated by federal, state or municipal government. And now Scott is preparing to embark with the 133rd Engineering Battalion on a tour to Afghanistan in the Global War on Terrorism.”

“One of the primary missions of the American Legion is to make sure that our veterans and their families receive the support and recognition they deserve,” said Bernard. “Every member of our organization is a wartime veteran and we know how important it is to receive the support of our fellow citizens during and after our military service.”
