If all the trash in the City of Auburn isn’t located at the city dump, it should be, according to a report of that city’s report of Cleanup Week activities recently (May 6-10). The Auburn Street Department hauled 292 truck loads of trash during the cleanup campaign. Supt. William H. Wilkinson said 62 of the loads had to be hauled last week after the regular week was over due to the great public response to the drive. In addition to the regular junk pick-ups, 42 old cars were carried away, as well as one large van body.

The combination is definitely back. Mike Rowe of Turner is again racing a car prepared by Butch Craig, and they are back in a winning mode. Coming off a victory in Saturday night’s race, Rowe jumped into a lead in Sunday’s Diet Coke 100 at Oxford Plains, and was never passed, although Leland Kangas of West Paris, a longtime Rowe adversary, chased for the entire race.
