The Pilgrims of Lewiston picked a 5 to 3 victory from the newly organized Auburn team in front of a large and enthusiastic audience consisting of paid admissions, retainers and fence tickets, at A.A.A. park in Auburn yesterday afternoon. The game was close and tight until the seventh when Gammon fell into the quicksands for the three tallies which hurt Auburn. Gammon was hit freely throughout the game but received good support. Driscoll, who put over some strike-out stuff, was also supported well. Yesterday’s game gives promise of good baseball at fair prices for these cities this summer.

Doctors should be allowed to make patient care decisions based on need, not on who will pay the bill, according to Sen. George J. Mitchell, D-Maine. The senator outlined his plan to reform federal reimbursement guidelines for long-term care recipients for about 100 people attending the annual meeting of Androscoggin Home Health Services/Great Falls Home Care Tuesday. Androscoggin Home Health/Great Falls was one of a number of Maine home health agencies that led a petition drive last fall to urge Congress to expand Medicare coverage for home health care.
