The Moxie Festival Committee has announced that the grand marshall of Maine’s largest summer parade of Moxie floats, bands, and Mainers who love Moxie will be former Senator Olympia Snowe. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, in Lisbon.
Participation in the Moxie Festival parade is free. Completed applications must have been submitted by Sunday, June 30. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and how well they depict the theme, “Moxie … A Maine Tradition.”
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Most Moxie — Commercial and Non Commercial, Most Appealing, Most Creative and Best Overall.
The parade, which attracts over 100 participants, will begin at Capital Avenue, travel down Rt. 196 and up Main Street before concluding at the intersection of Main St. and South/North streets (Barnie’s Variety Store).

Former Maine Senator Olympia Snowe, the 2013 Moxie Day Parade Grand Marshall, has been a regular participant in past Moxie Day parades.
