FARMINGTON — The new Mt. Blue Regional School District website is a work in progress.

Leanne Condon, assistant superintendent/director of curriculum, gave RSU 9 school directors an overview of the new site Tuesday.

The old site was taken down and a new one is up but still being worked on. The site is www.mtbluersd.org.

Some parents and community members have reported problems with getting on the website and finding information.

Darcy Dunphy, district technology director, sent out power announcements to parents to inform them of the new site.

Martha Thibodeau, district technology training coordinator, is responsible for the creation of the new district website and is working with district staff to ensure that there is consistency in the way the pages are presented, Condon said. Dunphy is also involved with the website.

Both, along with other technology staff, have been busy trying to get student laptops ready for the new school year that starts in late August.

Some of the information on the site is outdated and will be updated soon, she said.

Directors made suggestions that instead of having each school listed on the side of the homepage it could be in a pull-down tab to free space.

They also suggested hyperlinks be provided on the side of the home page for school board agendas, PowerSchool, NutriKids and the district calendar.

Board of Directors section can be found under the drop-down menu District Information. The list of directors will also be updated. If one scrolls down to below the list agendas, minutes and policy links are located there.

If you do a Web search, the district’s website it will not be found at this time, Condon said.

There is a place to email the webmaster to ask questions or make suggestions at the bottom of the home page.

“We really want this to be user-friendly,” Condon said.

Weld Director Nancy Crosby said the new site is a vast improvement over the old site.
