PARIS — The Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet with a planning expert to discuss a proposed zoning ordinance for the town during its meeting Monday evening.

John Maloney, a senior land use planner from the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, is expected to present revisions to a draft land use management ordinance the board is considering.

A committee tasked with drawing up the ordinance submitted a draft to selectmen this summer. Maloney and the town’s attorney, Geoff Hole, suggested revisions to the planned ordinance to make it comply with state law and other town ordinances.

The board also intends to discuss the Budget Committee appointment review during Monday’s meeting.

Selectmen have previously discussed evaluating the Budget Committee process and even floated the idea of establishing a finance committee to serve as a year-round advisory panel. At their meeting two weeks ago, selectmen appointed Debra Martin to the Budget Committee.

Board members also intend to discuss accepting a donation to fund paving Hannibal Hamlin Drive on Paris Hill and setting up a joint meeting with the Road Committee for a presentation on alternatives to paving.

Selectmen also plan to hold two executive sessions to discuss personnel matters.
