SABATTUS — Kathy Long of Sabattus has completed her course in advanced skin and nail pathology, diabetic foot syndrome, with Dr. Joachim Aust of Germany in Clearwater, Fla., with the North American School of Podology. Other course studies included infection control, comprehensive foot and leg evaluation, intensive theoretical and practical on lower limb biomechanics and gait analysis.
Long will join Dr. Aust, Katharin Van Gavel, DNM, along with other educators and podologists in January for her internship in St. Kitts, West Indies, working at a diabetic clinic. Upon completion, she will earn her bachelor of science degree in podology.
Long is a certified master pedicurist, certified podologist, licensed aesthetician and a certified reflexologist.
