ASHLAND — Police are investigating a late-night crash in northern Maine that killed a 34-year-old man and injured five others.

Officials say a pickup truck was heading north on Route 11 in Ashland shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday when the 22-year-old driver lost control and went off the road into a wooded area.

Authorities tell WQHR-FM that Joe Clark of Ashland died in the crash and that another passenger was in serious condition. Police say the other three people have injuries that are not life-threatening.
