FARMINGTON — A Vassalboro man was sentenced Thursday to serve two years of an eight-year sentence and four years probation for driving the getaway car in the June 2012 robbery of Tranten’s Too in Kingfield.

Matthew Santamore, 22, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery and misdemeanor charge of theft on Oct. 31.

A co-defendant, Kaleb Bowring, 20, of Norridgewock, also pleaded guilty to the same charges on Oct. 31. He will be sentenced in December.

Bowring admitted to going into the store at about 8 p.m. on June 18, 2012, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a bandanna over his face and white gloves. He told the clerk to empty the till into a bag he put on the counter. He also admitted to pulling a gun when two witnesses chased him down before he got into the waiting getaway car.

Justice Michaela Murphy said she accepted the sentencing agreement, mainly due to the clerk agreeing to it.

Murphy also terminated Santamore’s probation on a Somerset County burglary, which also involved Bowring. The two are accused of burglarizing the Norridgewock Irving’s gas station the day after the robbery at Tranten’s, Assistant District Attorney Joshua Robbins said.

The case was resolved prior to the robbery case, he said.

The conditions of the probation in the Somerset County case were added to the probation conditions in the Franklin County case. Those conditions include not returning to the Norridgewock business and paying a total of $1,290 with Kaleb Bowring to the owner of the business.

In the Franklin County case, Murphy ordered Santamore to pay a total of $800, also with Bowring, to Tranten’s.

Santamore is also forbidden to have contact with the victims in either case and Bowring. He also cannot go to any Trantens stores in Kingfield and Farmington.
