DUDLEY, Mass. — Courtney Vallee of New Gloucester, a member of the Nichols College class of 2014, has obtained an internship for the fall 2013 semester.

Internships allow students to apply their classroom experiences and knowledge to excel in a real world business or organizational environment. Vallee, a psychology major, is completing an internship at The Bridge of Central MA.

NEW LONDON, N.H. — The CSC Players presented seven 10-minute plays at their annual performance, “Requiem for a SNAFU,” on Dec. 12 and 13. From horror to drama to comedy, each play is written, directed and performed by Colby-Sawyer College students.

Students performing include Maggie Lawton of Waterford.

The CSC Players were founded to give students an opportunity to be involved with theatrical productions on a non-exclusive level. The organization promotes theater appreciation across campus and provides students with the opportunity to discuss theater with other students who appreciate the performing arts.

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Lyndon State College announced the Robert Long Scholarship recipients for the 2013-14 year. The award honors students who have completed at least two semesters at LSC and who have achieved at least 3.75 with at least 12 graded credits.

This year, Jake Carlton of Kingfield and Elizabeth Chenard of Salem Twp. were recipients of the Robert Long Scholarship.

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. — Lyndon State College awarded Laura Noddin of Fryeburg a Vermont Association of Broadcasters’ Scholarship for the 2013-14 school year. The award has been established to support juniors or seniors majoring in electronic journalism arts, who demonstrate a record of academic success, leadership and service.

LEWISTON — Erin Milligan, the child of Sherry Milligan of Rumford, and a 2011 graduate of Mountain Valley High School, participated in the fall 2013 Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program.

Milligan, who is majoring in economics at Bates, studied in Italy through Trinity College.

About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, and Bates offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries.
