NORWAY — Archie J. McCaughin died at home on Sunday, Jan. 26, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Warwick, R.I., to Archibald and Gladys C. Hull McCaughin. Archie was employed by the U.S. government in the civil service for 32 years, before retiring in 1988. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-56.

Archie was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway. He enjoyed his dogs and pets, and they will miss him as well.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lyndall (Barnes) McCaughin; his children, Patricia J. McCaughin, Katherine Garfield and her husband, Peter, Lyndall Field and her husband, Howard, and John E. McCaughin and Anne True; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank-you to Dr. Allan Reis and his staff, the staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital, as well as everyone at hospice for all their kindness at the end of his life.
