Auburn Police School Resource Officer Don Cousins waits for Tyler Burns as Burns gets a push from mom during the Spring Fever Fun Festival at Pettengill Park in Auburn on Saturday. Cousins lead children through an obstacle course to teach bicycle safety. The annual event that benefits Washburn Elementary School features, games, food, dance demonstrations and a raffle for new and used bicycles. “The key is for the kids to leave here with some knowledge of bicycle safety,” said Dan Bilodeau of the Lewiston-Auburn Optimist Club. Burns and his mother, Melissa, live in Bath.
