LEWISTON — Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community is offering a series of free classes titled Creating Your Future in a Changing Economy.

They will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays. Dates are June 16, 19, 23, 26 and 30, and July 3, 7 and 10. The classes will be held at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College in Lewiston. There will be an orientation from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12.

Attendees will examine work values and interests, identify transferable skills, and learn techniques to manage paychecks effectively. The classes will explore local projected growth industries and identify the skills, education, and/or training needed to launch a new career. Attendees will create a plan to achieve their career goal. Assistance with building resumes and seeking jobs will also be provided.
