LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine is accepting applications for Summer Camp, which runs for nine weeks, June 23 through Aug. 22.

Children can join for as little as one week or for the entire session. The camp is for children ages 5 through 12, with three camps to choose from.

Camp Kangaroo is for campers ages 5-7 who have completed kindergarten; Camp Weewannago for campers ages 8-12; and Art Camp for campers ages 8-12. Camp will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Morning and afternoon extended care is available for an additional cost.

This summer the camp will explore the State of Maine with weekly field trips planned that will include day hikes, rock hunting and treasure seeking, as well as visiting Maine lakes, streams and the ocean.

Art Camp themed weeks are as follows: June 23-27, Digital Photography; June 30-July 3, Drawing; July 7-11, Painting; July 14-18, Cartooning; July 21-25, Performance Art; July 28-Aug. 1, Sculpting; Aug. 4-8, Film-Making; Aug. 11-15, Scrapbooking; Aug. 18-22, Cooking and Party Planning.

Camps Kangaroo and Weewannago cost to members of the YWCA is $135 a week and nonmembers, $145.

Art Camp cost to members is $145; $155 for non-members; all art supplies included.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no additional cost. There is a nonrefundable $15 deposit for each week of camp, which will be applied to camp costs. Deposit is due at the time of registration.
