LEWISTON — William Robitzek, a highly regarded trial lawyer for the past 35 years, has announced he will conclude his career at Berman & Simmons, 129 Lisbon St., at the end of 2014. A partner at the law firm, he has practiced at Berman & Simmons since 1979.

A graduate of the Boston University School of Law, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, and is the immediate past president of the Maine State Bar Association.

While his career as a trial lawyer at Berman & Simmons will come to an end in December, Robitzek is not retiring. Instead, the Auburn resident intends to explore other ways to apply his skills and energy.

He is known for giving back to his community, and has been an active leader for the Campaign for Justice, which raises money each year for Maine’s six nonprofit legal aid providers.
