RUMFORD — Black Mountain Ski Resort on Wednesday announced several fundraisers this summer.

Hit the Track for Black 5K is scheduled for 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Hosmer Field. The race was started by Curtis Gauvin and Avery and Riley Sevigny of Rumford to raise money for Black Mountain after it was forced to shut down last year because there was no town funding.

The ski resort is planning to hold its second annual golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Oakdale Country Club.

The second annual live auction is tentatively scheduled for November, according to a news release.

Black Mountain held its first live auction last year to raise money for operations. The auction was described by Judy Collette, a member of the ski resort’s fundraising committee, as a “collaborative brainstorming effort by the entire committee.”

Residents can donate money to the ski resort on gofundme.com, or by mailing directly to any Franklin Savings Bank or Bangor Savings Bank branch, according to the release.
