JAY — A pair of crashed motorcycles on Crash Road late Saturday afternoon sent three riders to the hospital, according to police.
Sergeant Troy Young of the Jay Police Department said a Harley-Davidson, ridden by Robert Gregoire, 49, of Whitefield crashed first, likely due to rain, at 4:39 p.m.
A second Harley-Davidson, ridden by Christopher Shaw, 45, of Readfield, was unable to avoid Gregoire, and struck his motorcycle.
A third motorcycle with the group steered clear of both.
Gregoire, his passenger, Cathy Gregoire, 47, and Shaw were all taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Young said their injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening.
Young said both motorcycles involved in the crash sustained significant damage.
