JAY — The North Jay Water District lifted the boil-water order Wednesday for customers who lost service after a waterline break Saturday on Route 4 near the North Jay Fire Station.

Water samples were tested at a laboratory in Augusta, which determined the water was safe for public consumption, Treasurer Ron Moreau said.

District representatives thanked all who were inconvenienced by the break for their  patience, he said. Moreau also thanked those who dedicated their time and talents to getting the word out and repairing damage to the system.
