Amber Greenwood, 11, recently received a letter from Victor Kelly of Newfoundland, who found the remains of a balloon the Greene girl released March 17, 1988. She was among 35 Campfire Kids of Greene who celebrated Campfire Founders’ Day by releasing balloons with notes on them. Her name and message remained clear and intact. Kelly told her he found the balloon dangling from a tree in woods that had been damaged by a forest fire.
