Oak Hill plans Craft/Anything Fair

WALES — Class of 2015 Project Graduation will host Oak Hill High School’s Project Graduation Craft/Anything Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Oak Hill High School, 56 School Road.

Admission is free. There will be concessions, raffles and free gift wrapping.

The annual Project Graduation is a worthy endeavor that provides a fun, safe, chemical-free celebration for students graduating from Oak Hill High School.

First Saturday Sale at Cary Library

WAYNE — Cary Memorial Library’s First Saturday Book Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

This is also the day of the “Wayne Stroll.” While you are “strolling” through Wayne, stop by the Williams House. There will be a Kinkade Hawthorne Village, bigger than the town of Wayne, (nine buildings) on display, and for sale, piece by piece.

Treat yourself to coffee or tea, and quiche or a scone, visit with neighbors and shop at the ongoing book sale and boutique. Nearly new books and one-of-a-kind boutique items make wonderful gifts.

IHM Golden Age Club to meet Dec. 9

AUBURN — Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

It’s Christmas Party Time. The group will meet at Gippers Grill on Center Street at 11:30 a.m. A carol sing-a-long will take place at 11:45.

Attendees will order from a limited menu at noon. Each bill will include tax and gratuity. Dessert will be provided.

College planning workshop is Dec. 10

LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host a free workshop titled Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and over at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. To register or for more information, call 1-800-281-3703 or visit meoc.maine.edu.

The starting point for all MEOC participants is the free, interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Preregistration is required.

Picture painting party on Dec. 13

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church will host a picture painting party at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the church, 439 Park Ave.

The instructor will provide step-by-step instructions to create a beautiful winter evening scene. A sample can be seen at the church. All supplies are included and each person will bring home a masterpiece on a stretched canvas.
