JAY — Selectpersons accepted the resignation of Mike Houlihan from the Board of Assessment Review on Monday night with regret and thanked him for his service.
He was not in attendance.
The board appointed alternate Ronald Guay to a regular position until September 2019.
That leaves an alternate position needing to be filled, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere.
Anyone interested in serving on the board should contact LaFreniere at the Town Office at 897-6785.
The assessment board is in the midst of Verso Androscoggin LLC’s appeal of the 2013 tax abatement of $829,258 issued by selectpersons in January for the paper mill and associated properties.
The company claims the town overvalued the mill and property.
