The Androscoggin County Elder Abuse Task Force is holding an essay contest for high school seniors in Androscoggin County to help raise awareness of the issue of elder abuse in the communities.

The essay topic is “What is elder abuse and why does it matter to you?” There will be a $200 prize for the first-place entry and $100 for second place. 

To be eligible, participants must be Androscoggin County residents and have plans to attend college or a certification program as a full-time student in the 2015-2016 school year.

The Androscoggin County Elder Abuse Task Force is a community partnership dedicated to ending elder abuse, generating resources, educating the community and advocating to meet the needs of elder abuse victims.
