1937 – 2015
OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Roger M. Pouliot, 78, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 18, in Old Orchard Beach.
He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 18, 1937, a son of Antonio and Yvonne (Poulin) Pouliot. He was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1957. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
After the service, Roger attended business school and was employed by Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Lewiston for 25 years. Roger left Boston Mutual to pursue his career with the Maine State Legislative Office. He was also a member of the Lewiston City Council and worked for the Maine Turnpike Authority.
In 2000, Roger and his wife, Suzanne, moved to Old Orchard Beach to be closer to family.
During retirement, he enjoyed working at the Sea View Inn in Old Orchard Beach, and looked forward to seeing his returning friends each season.
Roger also enjoyed golf and was a member of Martindale Country Club in Auburn. Football season was another favorite time of year, when he followed the Fighting Irish and the New England Patriots football teams.
He was predeceased by one sister, Rita Fisher.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Suzanne (Courchesne) Pouliot; one daughter, Serena Nadeau; one granddaughter, Chloe; two brothers, Roland Pouliot and his wife, Sally, and Robert Pouliot and his wife, Elsie; and several nieces and nephews.
