JAY — Funeral services for Norman E. Bryant were held on Monday, Sept. 7, at the Jay Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Hamlin (Norman’s great-grandson) officiating.

The service began with the congregation singing Norman’s favorite hymn, “Where the Roses Never Fade.” Several passages of scripture were read, including James 1:5, which was referenced from his personal Bible. The congregation also sang “In the Garden,” followed by several words of remembrance.

The service concluded with “Standing on the Promises.” The organ was played by Dot White and pallbearers were Jason Hamlin, Randy Hamlin, Solomon Nutt, Clint Dolloff, Austin Poulain and Zach LaRock. Following the service, all were invited to a reception held at the parish hall.

Following cremation, interment for both Norman and his wife, Natalie, who predeceased Norman, took place at Jay Hill Cemetery on Friday, Sept., 11. Military honors were rendered by Camp Keyes in Augusta and a gun salute was offered by the Jay VFW Post 3335.
