Brakey joins CLT board of directors

AUBURN — State Sen. Eric Brakey, R-Auburn, has been selected as a member of the Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre board of directors.

Brakey will formally assume his position at his first meeting later this month.

CLT is one of the oldest continuously running community theaters in Maine. It is a membership organization and is volunteer-driven. Brakey has acted in several of the theater’s productions, including “The Odd Couple,” “Arsenic and Old Lace,” and Monty Python’s “Spamalot.”

Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Oct. 8 were:

First place, Norm Bissonnette and Roger Labbe; second place, Marie Madore and Pauline Quimby; third place, Ike LeCompte and Roger St.Pierre; fourth place, Claudette Grandmaison and George Bussiere; and fifth place, Andrea Metayer and Dick Saucier.

The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Fall Quilting Class begins

MONMOUTH — A fall quilting class will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Packard Activity Center under the United Church, 778 Main St.

The class is open to all who would like to quilt to learn, share ideas and show work. 

All are welcome to work on the pattern, a disappearing nine-patch with variations and Migrating Geese.

Schooner Estates craft fair Oct. 17

AUBURN — A craft fair and raffle will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Schooner Estates on Stetson Road.

All proceeds will benefit Camp Sunshine.

Androscoggin Grange variety show

GREENE — A variety show with music, comedy and solos will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Androscoggin Grange No. 8, 99 Main St.

Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children younger than 6.

This is the 15th year of the show. A chair lift is available for those who need it. Refreshments will be available.

Doors open one hour before each show.

Woodlawn Cemetery Association annual supper

BOWDOIN — Woodlawn Cemetery Association’s annual supper will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at West Bowdoin Parish Hall, 54 West Road.

Meal choices are smothered beef or roast turkey.

The cost is $8 for adults, $3.50 for ages 5 to 12 and free for preschoolers.

Church hosting Seniors Luncheon

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church will hold its monthly Seniors Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the church, 439 Park Ave.

The menu will include a boiled corned beef dinner, brownies and ice cream. The cost is $7. Make reservations by calling the church office at 207-782-3972.
