RUMFORD — Mexico High School Class of 1958 will meet for its class luncheon at Gatch’s at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Storytelling Guild Oct. 15

FARMINGTON — The next Woods Storytelling Guild meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Farmington Public Library.

This month, the group will share stories on a Halloween theme. The theme is The Dark Path.

RHS celebrates Archives Month

RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will open its archives office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. any Thursday in October at the Rumford Town Hall, second floor.

October is American Archives Month.

Many topics of interest can be reviewed including Rumford’s fires, floods, citizens, farms, mills, clubs, winter carnivals, buildings, wars, obituaries and births.

Dru Breton is the archivist and Janice Irish is the assistant.

Rummage sale Oct. 17

NORWAY — A rummage sale will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall, 32 Paris St.

There will be winter clothing and white elephant items.

Proceeds will help support the free Thanksgiving Day dinner held each year at the church.

Foster-Carroll craft fair Oct. 17

PARIS — The Foster-Carroll American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72 will hold its annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at 12 Church St.

The lunch counter will be open.

The hall is wheelchair accessible. There is ample room for parking.

RUMFORD — A food and rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 71 Rumford Ave.

Items include attic treasures, books, clothing, baked goods and more.

Linda Gaskill Memorial Texas hold’em

RUMFORD — The Linda Gaskill Memorial Texas hold’em tournament will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Rumford Eagles Hall, 13 Oxford Ave.

Buy-in is $75.

Proceeds will benefit the 4-H Club Camp.

Seneca Club hosting card class

PARIS — The Seneca Club of the Paris Public Library will hold an all-occasion card class as its annual fundraiser at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St.

The class will be taught by Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Kathryn Pulsifer.

The cost is $30 and includes lunch, beverages, snacks and all class materials.

Texas hold’em at Jackson Silver

GREENWOOD — A Texas hold’em poker tournament will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Jackson Silver Post 68 American Legion, 595 Gore Road.

Buy-in is $50 and $5 for license. Doors open at noon.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, pull-tabs and high-hand ticket option. The hall is air-conditioned. Refreshments will be available.

VFW Harvest Supper Oct. 17

PARIS — A harvest supper will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at VFW Post 9787, 58 East Main St.

The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

Woman to speak at Wayne library

WAYNE — Alberta Messer, nurse practitioner, suffered a stroke as a result of a medical procedure last year. She will share insights about her recovery at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Cary Library’s Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

The program is free and will be followed by light refreshments.
