RUMFORD — Mexico High School Class of 1958 will meet for its class luncheon at Gatch’s at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

Storytelling Guild Oct. 15

FARMINGTON — The next Woods Storytelling Guild meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Farmington Public Library.

This month, the group will share stories on a Halloween theme. The theme is The Dark Path.

RHS celebrates Archives Month

RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will open its archives office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. any Thursday in October at the Rumford Town Hall, second floor.

October is American Archives Month.

Many topics of interest can be reviewed including Rumford’s fires, floods, citizens, farms, mills, clubs, winter carnivals, buildings, wars, obituaries and births.

Dru Breton is the archivist and Janice Irish is the assistant.

Rummage sale Oct. 17

NORWAY — A rummage sale will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall, 32 Paris St.

There will be winter clothing and white elephant items.

Proceeds will help support the free Thanksgiving Day dinner held each year at the church.

Foster-Carroll craft fair Oct. 17

PARIS — The Foster-Carroll American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72 will hold its annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at 12 Church St.

Seneca Club hosting card class

PARIS — The Seneca Club of the Paris Public Library will hold an all-occasion card class as its annual fundraiser at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at First Congregational Church, 17 East Main St.

Texas hold’em at Jackson Silver

GREENWOOD — A Texas hold’em poker tournament will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Jackson Silver Post 68 American Legion, 595 Gore Road.

Buy-in is $50 and $5 for license. Doors open at noon.

The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

Woman to speak at Wayne library

WAYNE — Alberta Messer, nurse practitioner, suffered a stroke as a result of a medical procedure last year. She will share insights about her recovery at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Cary Library’s Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

The program is free and will be followed by light refreshments.
