LIVERMORE FALLS — The American Legion George Bunten Post 10 is inviting those with flags that are faded, torn or are in poor condition to drop them off at its drop-off disposal box at the base of its flag pole at 17 Reynolds Ave.

A flag disposal ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, to destroy them in a dignified way recommended by the National Flag Code.

Members of the American Legion Post 10, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3335 and AMVETS Post 33 are invited to participate in this program. More than 1,600 flags flown over veterans’ graves last summer will be disposed. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts are invited to take part in the program.

The ceremony is open to the public.
