AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston announced its December programs for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St. with the exception of gymnastics and field hockey.

Cross Country Skiing: Ski leasing is available for kids ages 4 to 13, and all ability levels are welcome. Registration is now open. Program runs Jan. 3, 2016, through Feb. 14.

Youth Swim Lessons: This seven-week session is for infants through 12 years. Multiple class times are available. Registration opens Monday, Dec. 14, and the session begins Jan. 4, 2016.

Home School Exercise: Home schooling families with kids ages 4 to 15 can stay active while making new friends. Program runs Mondays and Wednesdays, starting January 2016. Registration opens mid-December and will be announced.

Lunch & Learn: Katherine Lary of Healthy Androscoggin will present“Eating Better on a Budget.” A $5 registration fee is required; includes lunch. The program is set from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. 

Weigh to Go: The YMCA’s supportive weight management program returns in January, just in time for New Year’s resolutions. Registration opens mid-December, program starts Jan. 6, 2016.

Group Exercise: There are a variety of classes for all ability levels and intensities. Classes are free and unlimited with a YMCA membership. Guest fees are $8 per day. Visit the website for a complete schedule.

Open Family Swim: Available to Y members. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Fridays and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Pre-registration is required for most events and programs. Some fees apply, and financial assistance is available for qualifying individuals and families.
