Lost Valley Race Club meeting

“The Lost Valley Race Club will hold a Meet and Greet event on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lost Valley Ski Area lodge in Auburn.

The event is being held for current and prospective junior Alpine ski racers who want to ask questions and prepare for the season.

There will be a short presentation about contemporary race technique and tactics, and how they apply to the development of young Alpine ski racers. It will also be a chance to ask questions about equipment. Participants who have questions about equipment should bring it with them.

Prospective junior ski racers of all abilities and ages are welcome. LVRC is an alpine race club open to young skiers with an interest in racing between the ages of six and 18. Training is generally held on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 6 and 8 p.m. The club seeks to promote youth ski racing in the area and to develop accomplished and successful ski racers at every age level, while promoting good sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles. Central Maine Basketball League

The Central Maine Basketball League 3/4 Grade Girls Travel team kicked off its season last weekend.

The Dirigo Cougars and the Mt Blue Girls 3/4 Grade Travel Team played well, with the Dirigo Cougars coming out on top, 14-6.

Top scorers for Dirigo were Hannah Hamner with six points and four of her teammates each contributing two points. Top scorers for Mt. Blue were Mikayla Wilcox with four points and Kara Daggett with two points.
