Moore-Leamon to speak at service

PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street will welcome Silver Moore-Leamon to the pulpit for the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Jan. 17.

Moore-Leamon’s sermon is titled “The Two G’s of a Thoughtful Life.” Music is under the direction of Donna Hurd. Coffee, conversation and fellowship will follow the service and all are welcome.

Childcare is available and the First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible. The church welcomes and celebrates all beliefs.

Waterford Community Supper Jan. 21

WATERFORD — There will be a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Wilkins House in Waterford Flat on Plummer Hill beside the church.

Those attending should bring a main dish, salad or dessert to share with new and old friends. Rolls and beverages will be provided.

The hosts for the supper are Nancy Engdahl, Marilyn Crowley and Sara Barnacle. Everyone is invited.

SeniorsPlus to visit Norway, Fryeburg

NORWAY/FRYEBURG — SeniorsPlus will be at the Norway Town Office from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, and at the Fryeburg Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

Legion seeking vendors for sale

PARIS — The South Paris American Legion Post 72 is seeking vendors to set up at four indoor sales from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 6, March 5, April 9 and May 14.

Tables may be reserved for $10 for yard sale items and $15 for crafters and vendors.

The lunch counter will be open, and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

Proceeds from the sales will help the Auxiliary send three girls to Girls State.

Oxford Hills bridge winners announced

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 8 in the Recreation Building, King Street, when a seven-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A were Dotty Kelleher, Westbrook, and Mike True, Auburn; second, Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr., Lewiston, who also were first in flight B; third. Nancy Farmer, Norway, and Mike Newsom, South Paris; fourth, Rosemarie Goodwin, Lewiston, and Luke Merry, Windham.

Second in flight B were Diana and Jim Fallon, Bridgton, who also were first in flight C; third, Norma and Rick Verrill, Gorham; fourth, Carol Curran,Waterford, and Denny Raymond, Waterford, who were second in flight C; third in C, Cathy Sanderson, Waterford, and Karen MacNeill, Baldwin; fourth, BJ and Steve Cavicchi, Bridgton.
