JAY — Polycor, a Canadian-based company, will be blasting at its North Jay White Quarry operation throughout the day on Wednesday.

Blasting in the quarry area will be done between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said Thursday.

The Canadian company is in the process of developing the quarry and building a plant to manufacture granite curbing off Old Jay Hill Road.

The company expects to invest $4 million in the project and to create 20 direct jobs and 20 indirect jobs, and inject approximately $3 million per year into the local economy, according to company information.
