FARMINGTON — Flex Space Gallery in Farmington announces the Friday, March 4, opening of an international print exhibition. Farmington printmaker and textile artist Ellen Roberts is one of 17 participating artists from Maine.

Roberts’ “Neotropical Traveler” is one of 90 original fine art prints in the exhibition, A Sense of Place/El Sentido del Lugar, that opens at the Emery Community Arts Center, University of Maine at Farmington. There will be a reception from 5-7 p.m.

A Sense of Place/El Sentido del Lugar is a cross-cultural, collaborative printmaking exhibition created by two fine art presses separated by 3,800 miles. Thirty-two artists from Circling the Square Fine Art Press of Gardiner and Fundación Estampería Quiteña of Quito, Ecuador, celebrate a visual conversation on sustainability, biodiversity and the ways local changes may have global impacts.
