LEWISTON — The Maine Real Estate and Development Association will meet from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at DaVinci’s Eatery in the Bates Mill Complex, 150 Mill St., Lewiston. The topic will be Historic Masonry Reborn on the care of historic brick and stone buildings in Maine.

Panelists Mike Johnson of the Maine Historic Preservation Commission, Scott Whitaker of Building Envelope Specialists, Steve Pederson of WBRC Architects- Engineers, and Stephen Jones of Building Envelope Specialists will review how to analyze the conditions of existing buildings, propose solutions that meet budget, design and constructability considerations, as well as ensure the Secretary of Interior’s standards for rehabilitation are met.

The meeting begins with a breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 8 a.m., followed by the program from 8 to 9 a.m.

Cost is $25 per person for members, $35 per person for nonmembers. Prices increase by $10 after March 29. Payment is expected at the time of registration. No refunds will be granted to anyone who registers, but fails to attend or who cancels after March 29.
