LEWISTON — Maya Ramirez, M.D., a specialist in the medical treatment of obesity, has joined Central Maine Bariatric Surgery in Lewiston.

Ramirez received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1989. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 1994. In addition to board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation, she completed the American Board of Medical Specialties subspecialty certification in pain medicine and also became board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine.

She is also board-certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and eventually completed a fellowship in metabolic and nutritional medicine. She obtained certification in functional medicine in 2014 and became board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2016.

Central Maine Bariatric Surgery is at 10 High St., Lewiston, Suite 105, and includes bariatric surgeons Jamie Loggins, M.D., and Kirk Sahagian, D.O. The practice can be reached at 207-795-5710.
